Securing your website

Plugins with Punch

Following on from Site Recovery post, we get to the issue of plugins for security.

The first plugin to apply is wordfence. Open plugins, click “add new”, insert “wordfence” into search box, top, right. Install, activate.

Install directions are in the site-recovery post.

Wordfence will advise if a plugin needs updating, or if there  are security issues with the plugin.

Second Plugin must be WPBruiser. Same process as wordfence – use search box, install, activate.
Open WPBruiser and have a look at the settings, just to be sure.

Take care with plugins – they are prime avenues for hackers who exploit poor coding.

Always ensure your plugins are up-to-date
